The Radeon R9 280 would feature Tahiti PRO (2) GPU with 1792 Stream Cores. Let’s not forget that HD 7950 was the most popular card among cryptocurrency miners. The reason for the delay could be related to the short supply of AMD GPUs, including Tahiti core. The R9 280 would basically be a HD 7950 rebrand, just as 280X is a rebranded HD 7970. Actually we were surprised this card was not released with the 280X. We’ve been talking about this card for months now. A new rumor is floating around the web suggesting that AMD will add two cards to its lineup.
